Feast of the Immaculate Conception

Did you know that today December 8 we are celebrating the Feast of the Immaculate Conception? These countries celebrate this patronal feast day: Spain, Korea, Portugal, Nicaragua, Brazil, Philippines and the United States of America. Roman Catholic Church as well as few other Christian churches celebrated this day.

The feast is often celebrated with Holy Mass, parades, fireworks, processions, ethnic foods and cultural festivities in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is also considered as a family day especially in many Catholic countries.

In our town, this is also the day of lighting on our Christmas light decor after the procession.

You can now really feel the season of Christmas. By the way, the first Sunday of Advent began on December 2, 2012 and will end on Monday, December 24, 2012.
